How to feel happier by keeping a mirror close by to remind you to smile.
How you hold yourself physically has a great effect on your mood. One of the quickest way to become happy is to act happy. Try it right now. Stand up straight. Look up and put a huge smile on your face. How do you feel? It is almost impossible to feel depressed with a huge grin on your face!
The biggest challenge with this is to remember to smile when you are feeling down. A good way to do this is to keep a mirror close by. Put a mirror in your drawer at work or on the wall near your desk. Write "Smile!" on the bottom of the mirror. You could even try drawing a smiley face on the mirror. Now, whenever you look in the mirror you will remember to smile!
Scientists have shown that humans look into mirrors more often than at pictures (from 27 to 71 times per day!). You will find yourself looking into your new mirror. You will remember to smile and you will feel happier. This tip also has the added benefit of making people around you smile. When people around you are happier, you are happier.
