How to improve your family life by putting in the time.
One feature common to good fathers and mothers is that they spend quality time with each other and with each of their children.

Your children know what is important to you. The things that get most of your attention and time are the most important things in your life. What things do you spend the most time and direct attention on? Do not claim that you over work for your family. It is important to have a work life but it is very harmful to work too much. If you go into a defensive state when talking about family time it is a signal that you may be working too much. Ask yourself if you overwork for your family or for your own ego.

Plan set times to spend with your partner and your children. Never break these dates. If you do, you are teaching them that they are not an important priority in your life. You are also setting a bad example for how they will treat their future families.

Learn about the interests and hobbies of your partner and your children. They are probably different things for each member of the family. Spend some alone time with each one. It may be going to a baseball game with your daughter. It may be playing video games with your son. It may be going to yoga class with your husband.

Use your lunch hour to see your family. Make a date! Visit your kids at school. Bring them lunch! they will love it

Remember that when you say "yes" to work you are often saying "no" to your kids. By scheduling time for your family, you can make it clear to your work that this is sacred time. If you give in, you child will see this and know that they are not the main priority in your life.
