How to overcome fear and gain confidence by practicing.

Fear of rejection and fear of failure are two of the most common things that stop people from doing what they really want. These fears can be crippling. We are faced with decisions every day. Should we talk to that person we find attractive? Should we ask for a raise? Should we take action toward our goals? Fear often gets in the way of making the correct decision!

It is very difficult for some to approach people they are attracted to. The main reason for this is fear of rejection. If you stop and think about this, the fear is totally irrational. What is the worst thing that could happen? You could be rejected. So what? However, what is the best thing that could happen? You could meet the person of your dreams! You could start the great relationship of your life! The upside is amazing!

To get over your fears and start living the life you want, practice! Make a list of the things you are afraid of and practice them until the fear is gone. If you are hesitant to approach people you are attracted to, go out today and approach 10 people! Think of it as an exercise. There is no down side. Each time you will be learning something. You will get better and better. You will become more comfortable and more confident. Once you achieve this confidence, it will be clear to everyone around you. Remember that people find confidence very attractive!

Many sales experts suggest trying direct sales to get over the fear of rejection and embarrassment. One of the best ways to do this is sales on the phone. When you sell on the phone, you can talk to dozens of people an hour. And get dozens of rejections! Each rejection makes you stronger, until you simply do not care! Once you reach this level of confidence, you will find that selling and anything else you are trying gets much easier and you become much more successful.

Remember that each rejection is not really a failure! You are learning each time and you are getting stronger! The more you “fail”, the better you get!
