| 9.2 | Confidence Tip - Pick an Identifying Hobby |
|
How to increase you confidence by having an identifying hobby.
|
 | Pick an interesting hobby that identifies you and become an expert. This will make you more interesting and increase your confidence.
Pick one thing and become an expert. You can now tell people that you are a writer. You are a collector. You are a surfer. You are an orchid care expert. You are whatever you want to be! As you become an expert, people will come to you for questions on the subject. To live up to their expectations, you will automatically want to learn more. You will be seen as an achiever, a self motivated person that excels in all areas of their life.
As you learn more and more, offer to teach people about the subject. To really learn something, you should teach it! To live up to the label of teacher, you automatically find yourself learning more and more.
If you pick a hobby that involves exercise, you will tend to be in better shape. Exercise will be more fun and you will find yourself workout more to improve your performance.
If you already have a hobby, get serious about it. Become the expert. Get the journals related to the hobby. Join the clubs or associations in your community. Lean about the equipment. Learn about the professionals in the field.
If you do not have a hobby, think about the things that you have always wanted to try? Think about the people you look up to. What are their hobbies?
It can also help your career. Look for titles and awards related to your hobby. Now, on your resume instead of “plays tennis every now and then” you could say “certified instructor of tennis and competed in 10 tournaments this year”.
The most important thing is to get started now. Go right now and schedule a lesson for this weekend!
