How to train your subconscious mind to believe that you are a strong, confident person by never telling yourself that you are shy.

If you tell yourself something enough, you will believe it. This fact can help you and it can also hurt you.

Make sure that you never say anything that you do not want to be true. If you want to be a strong, confident person, never tell yourself that you are shy. Never, ever say that you are shy out loud. This not only convinces you that you are shy, but it convinces everyone around you that you are shy. They will begin to treat you like you are shy. They will protect you from being outgoing. They will shield you from opportunities that would give you a chance to be confident. Once you believe that you are shy and everyone around you believes you are shy, it becomes very difficult to act in a different way. Do not let this happen.

Make a rule that other people cannot say that you are shy and try not to tell yourself that you are shy. If you catch others saying it, just ask them to please not say that again. Tell them that you may have been shy in the past but you are working on it and are no longer shy. When you catch yourself saying that you are shy, stop and take a deep breath. Tell yourself that you are no longer shy. Then, at the very next opportunity do something that is “un-shy” to prove to your subconscious mind that you are no longer shy. Say “hello” to the next person you see.
