How to keep your kids safe by making your house the place to be.
|
 | Create a comfortable, fun home. Make your house the place where your children and friends want to be. If they are in your home, they are not out on the streets.
Have good snacks. Teenagers, especially, love to eat. Have activities that your kids like. Get that basketball hoop. Have some games. Make sure there is a private place where they can be away from adults.
Be friendly to you child’s friends. Greet them by name. When you see them, smile and make eye contact. If they are teenagers, treat them like adults and ask them how they are doing.
After saying hello, make sure you leave them alone. You want your home to be comfortable. Never interrogate or intrude.
