How to stay in shape and loose weight in the long run by doing a few little things every day to burn calories.



A chronic problem in the United States is creeping weight gain. The average American gains almost 2 pounds per year. This does not seem like much, but over 10 years this is an extra 20 pounds. Over 20 years this is an extra 40 pounds! Reverse this pattern. Choose to loose weight every year instead! Accomplish this slow weight loss by doing a few extra things every day to burn calories.

Here are some things you can do every day.

1. Park in the furthest spot from the door. If you do this at work and when you go shopping, you can add several minutes of walking to your day.

2. Always take the stairs.

3. Workout for 5 minutes. Take a walk for just 5 minutes. Sometimes the hardest part is getting started. Tell yourself that it is only 5 minutes. Once you get going you will be surprised at how often 5 minutes turns into 30 minutes or more.

4. Switch to water instead of soda or juice. This can save you hundreds of calories per day.

6. Do some house work or yard work for a few minutes every day.

7. Stand up and do some stretches several times per day.

8. Go from your toes up to your head and flex every muscle for a few seconds. You can do this at your desk or on your couch. Do this several times per day.
