| 9.5 | Leadership Tip - Figure Out if the Target of Your Communication Has a Dominant Kinesthetic Representational System. |
|
How to communicate more effectively by figuring out if a person’s primary representational system is kinesthetic.
|
 | Kinesthetic communicators place the greatest importance on feelings. The most important things to these people give them the most feeling. They tend to talk very slowly and describe things in terms of feelings.
To be a great leader, you need to figure out if your target is a kinesthetic communicator. Once you know this, you can change the way you communicate making every word you say more effective.
To know if someone is a kinesthetic communicator, listen to their speech. They usually talk very slowly and are very emotional. They say things like “That is a HAPPY idea” or “This is very INTENSE” or “Your office is SAD”.
To communicate effectively with kinesthetic people, try to tell a story with your message. Get to the heart of what you are trying to say. For example, if you need to pump up sales or marketing efforts explain how the company will be happier for the effort.
