How to keep track of your calories accurately and loose weight permanently by getting a food scale.

Why have a food scale? So that you can know what you are eating! Studies show that it is very important to keep track of everything you eat. People who use diet notebooks are much more successful at loosing weight and keeping it off.

Sometimes the food you eat does not come with nutritional information. A large apple can have twice as many calories as a small apple. If you guess on calories, you could be 100% off! It is bad for your diet to eat more calories than you think and very bad to eat less (you could be killing your muscles!) Use a food scale to know exactly how much you are eating.

When you use a diet notebook and a food scale, you tend not to eat things that are difficult to record. You avoid having small bites and tastes and grabbing a few chips. You avoid this rather than having to figure out the calories and write it down. Also, when you have a diet notebook and scale, you are writing evidence of what you are eating! You will not want the evidence to show that you splurged. It applies psychological pressure to remain on your diet. You want to be honest and consistent, so this makes it more likely that you will stick to your diet.

Weigh your food in grams and then compute the calories by how many are in each gram. Sometimes you don’t eat all of the food that you have measured. You either get full or there are waste portions of the food. Weigh the food (cooked) before you eat it and then weight the left over portion. Count the calories in the difference.

1Get a Food Scale and Use a Diet Notebook
Weight everything, figure out the calories and write it down in a diet notebook. This by itself will make you loose weight. Just knowing the calories you are eating can provide enough pressure to stick to a diet.
