| 9.4 | Confidence Tip - Act Like You Are Already Confident |
|
How to increase you confidence by acting like you are already confident.
|
 | If you want to be confident, start acting like you are confident! Confidence is a state of mind. Our state of mind, or our mood, is linked directly to our physical bodies. How you hold your body is often a direct reflection of your current mood. The opposite is also true. If you make your body act a certain way it has an effect on your mental state.
Studies show that people who are depressed can immediately improve their moods by smiling and standing up straight. You can quickly improve your “confidence mood” by acting confidently.
Think of the people you know who are confident and try to duplicate their behavior. How to they stand? How do they talk? How do they carry themselves? Chances are that they stand up very tall, they walk with a purpose and they speak very clearly and directly. Try it out right now. Pull your shoulders back and keep your head high and walk across the room like you know where you are going. I bet you feel confident.
